With the full moon upon us August 19, it appears things at It's Yoga are also coming around full circle.

We are very excited to have Katie back in action. She has returned to teaching, stronger than ever, after time spent adjusting to her new role as mommy. Her daughter Sofia is by far our sweetest and most beautiful addition to the family. Many thanks to all of the It's Yoga Instructors who stepped up while Katie was away. I feel so blessed to have such a strong team!

Outside San Francisco it appears yoga is becoming more and
more a mainstream activity. We are excited to have grown throughout the world & the summer trainings confirmed It's Yoga is now a global presence. With practitioners visiting from England, France, Sweden, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Turkey, Italy, Canada & Nepal and Scotland, we are honored to share the practice on such a grand level. We are the self-appointed 'UN of Ashtanga' in the West. Furthermore, we are witnessing an influx of young people (Rocket classes with 7 and 10 year olds - amazing!).
Observing how the ages of our teacher training circles get lower and lower solidifies my belief that what we are doing here is a movement of turning away from what doesn't work and moving towards what does. More and more, I'm grateful to the strong young people who want to contribute to our planet by sharing their practice. We've named them the 'Silent Revolutionaries' the peaceful warriors. They are speaking a new language called Ashtanga and it brings great joy to all of us in light of current
mainstream confusion about the state of the world. Our philosophy of living yoga off the mat is becoming a social statement - it's about acknowledging the inner teacher and quieting the inner critic - it's about relaxing and breathing and going with the flow - it's about loving yourself more so you can love others unconditionally. It's Yoga.

Because we believe in the power of the practice, we have done some "telling" marketing research. In our area, we've found that studios are charging exorbitant rates for trainings and classes. Our goal has always been firmly established in the belief that yoga is inclusive rather than exclusive. We want everyone to share the gifts of the practice. Value does matter. We trust our low rates
support the cultivation of a practice for both new and current students.

As the cooler weather moves in our Fall season includes some very hot events: a trance dance with one of our recent graduates from London; a CD release & celebration honoring Autumn with the
Fabulous Fantuzzi - one of my dearest friends. This event is not to be missed! It includes a Kirtan, Heart Songs and a Latin/Reggae beat. See the website for the dates. More details are on the way.

And finally, in November we'll land in Ixtapa, Mexico for an amazing workshop in a house situated on a giant cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean & hosted by none other than our favorite Mexican Yogini, Ana DesVignes, of Mexico City's It's Yoga location known as Yoga Hé. We are calling it a retreat to honor the practice and celebrate the path of yoga & promises to be an enlightening and memorable experience. Stay tuned for details and new retreat locations.

As the end of the year approaches, remain healthy and watch your understanding of the practice deepen. Stay focused and enjoy the process of getting stronger. Always, we send happy thoughts your way, for a Fall 2005 filled with reflection, acceptance and love.

Namasté,
Larry and the It's Yoga Family
